What We Do

ACER believes African immigrants understand complex issues and know our communities best. We elevate the voices of community members. We build bridges between residents and decision-makers so that our knowledge and expertise is represented in the policies that shape our communities. The type of issues ACER works on will evolve, but the way that ACER works will not. We work with African immigrants through:

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: developing leadership in African diaspora communities to dismantle systemic racism and create opportunities for our people.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: organizing community members to advance local and regional policies that will benefit African immigrants.

ADVOCACY: advocating for policies and practices that eliminate racial disparities and create thriving African Diaspora.
